The Hop Vine formerly the ‘Royal Hotel’ was built in 1874 and was the main stopping off point for goods being transported to and from the old Turnpike road the A59. The Royal as it was known has served the community and travellers alike. To the rear of the building in our historic Cobbled Garden you will find our own brewery housed in the stables which were used for the horses and stage coaches as they passed through the village. From Ales to YPA’s, to Blonde beers we are a small producer using primary English hops brewing exclusively in house for The Hop Vine and our sister pub the Legh Arms.Our countryside sister the Legh Arms is our latest addition to the family and is situated in the pretty hamlet of Mere Brow. Amazing experience from start to finish. We had our toddler with us and the staff were brilliant with her. Good value food, went for the steak and chips for £15 but they had a deal 3 courses for £29. Food was amazing well worth the money. Service was brilliant the staff couldn’t do enough for you.

This is a lovely place with fabulous food but you pay for it ! A 2 course meal is about £48, and that is just a main … no veg and often no carb either. To me mid week that’s expensive. It’s much cheaper b4 6pm but how many working people can get there before 6pm. So I would definitely go back , but for a special meal rather than a midweek meet up. Just too pricey. Small cans of beer ..£6 each 😱😱🤦‍♀️

Had a meal a change from hospital food. It took about half an hour to recieve the food after our order, only another family was in so it wasnt overly busy. We ordered a starter and 2 mains, they later asked if we wanted the starter 1st or with our mains, so as we needed to get back to the hospital we had it all together, nachos, fish and chips, and burger and chips, very nice food, served hot, and presentable. Would go ago again if we are in hospital across the road x
