The Duke of Wellington Inn is nestled in the tranquil Tyne valley village of Newton just off the A69 near Corbridge, within easy access to Newcastle, Hadrian"s Wall Country, Hexham and Northumberland's National Park. The décor reflects the traditional country inns history but with a modern twist. Booked for an 80th birthday celebration and were delighted to be the first family group to have the Christmas Fayre 2024. It was excellent- good food and great value and the festive decorations were beautiful. Staff were attentive and friendly and we will most certainly be back !

Lucky to get same day booking for four for Sunday Lunch. Service was fabulous, staff extremely attentive and friendly. Sunday lunch was very good, all opted for beef which was plentiful and beautifully tender. Vegetables all freshly prepared, and well cooked. Huge Yorkshire pudding and extra gravy served on request Deserts absolutely huge and all gorgeous . Could not fault it at all. Very good value for two courses. Will definitely return.
