We originally considered it a quiet pastoral road stop, since Los Feliz Boulevard was just an unpaved country lane traversed by rabbits and rabbit hunters, in that order.Everything changed when Walt Disney and his animators, set designers, and crews began trekking out between takes for a bite and a refreshment. Deme, short for Demeter, (the Greek Goddess of the Harvest) is a new Eastern Mediterranean and Aegean Sea-inspired poolside eatery at Hotel Figueroa, with nods to the sea-faring communities along the Eastern Mediterranean Coast, Turkey, and Israel, led by Executive Chef Blake Shailes. Think: housemade Mediterranean dips served with freshly made pita bread using a combination of ancient Kamut flour and Tehachapi Farms Red Fife Flour, Crispy Lobster Kataifi, Turkish Manti (Turkish Lamb Dumplings), Lahmacun (Turkish Pizza // Spiced Wagyu Flatbread), a Greek-inspired Glazed Octopus & Grilled Grape Skewers, and large-format platters designed for shareable feasts including Slow Cooked Lamb Neck Shawarma, Half Heritage Chicken Mansaf and desserts including housemade Baklava, and housemade Soft Serve paired with a refreshing and playful cocktail program developed by Bar Director, Milosz Cieslak.     I just had a group of professional women in business dinner for 8 and our experience was outstanding. The restaurant is so beautiful, warm and such a unique space. It was a beautiful night even in December so it was wonderful to be able to experience the open roof. The service was perfect and truly the food, cocktails and wine 10/10. I cannot say enough great things! Redbird’s wow factor and wonderful and consistent service will make it a restaurant I entertain at for years to come!

    From the beginning: The hostesses were super nice upon checking in to our reservation. Drinks & food were phenomenal! Valerie was such an amazing server! We truly had the best time! She was attentive, funny & really sweet. The manager, JR was so nice! He came by to check in& made us feel welcome! We will be coming back again for dinner OR brunch. Thank you all for making my birthday dinner special 😊

    The Tam is a classic, well loved restaurant. We’ve been coming here for years enjoying the festive holiday atmosphere and old world charm. Today’s holiday lunch was a disappointment, unfortunately. The service was good, our server was cheerful, friendly and attentive. No issues there. The food however, was not good. The Christmas Turkey was dry and not tender, and the portion was surprisingly small. Three thinly sliced less than two inches wide portions that wouldn’t even fit a sandwich. The stuffing was extremely salty and just not good. It was bad. The vegetables on the side were over cooked and looked like they were thrown on the plate instead of carefully prepared on the plate. I was surprised at the low quality of the food and presentation. My lunch partner was pleased with his meal, the brisket plate, which saved our lunch from being a complete disappointment.

    Food was wonderful. Server was gracious and offered sincere and great suggestions. We had openers, mezze and an entree. Flavors were amazing. All great: dips, lamb dumplings, prawns and duck shawarma. Will return with another hungry crowd!

    Our service was excellent and the food choices were terrific. I tried the mango beer and it was quite surprisingly delicious. Everything was great for friends. Had a chance to visit with each other before the holidays. Thank you Sycamore. We had a wonderful time.
