The Grain House Restaurant is located on the picturesque 10-acre estate of the Olde Mill Inn in Basking Ridge, NJ. The Grain House structure was originally built as a barn in the 1760’s and was used to store grain for American Revolutionary soldiers. The barn was later moved to its current location and opened as a restaurant in the 1930’s. Today, the Grain House is a renowned restaurant in North/Central New Jersey, with a comfortable, casual ambiance. The restaurant serves innovative, traditional and contemporary interpretations of American cuisine with some added international accents, prepared under the direction of Executive Chef John Benjamin. It is a beautiful venue that is no doubt. The food was good not outstanding and for what you pay it should be. Scallops were $45 and not sure it should be as much as a steak. Glass of wine for $16 is also a bit much. Just wish things were more reasonable! Will probably not go back for dinner but would go to have a drink at the bar.

Every visit to Café Vincotto feels like a special occasion, even if it’s just a regular dinner out. The food is absolutely phenomenal – you can tell they prioritize quality with every ingredient. But honestly, the service is what keeps us coming back again and again. The staff is exceptional. They’re warm, professional, and always seem to anticipate what you need before you even ask. Whether it’s a thoughtful wine pairing suggestion, checking in at just the right moment, or remembering your favorite dishes, the level of care and attention they provide is rare and refreshing. Beet salad with quinoa was delicious and it was split in the kitchen for us. That was followed by diver scallops perfectly cooked and artfully plated with scalloped (!) potatoes and sautéed mushrooms. All delicious and better than i expected in such a large restaurant. Our server was a charmer as well.

Our waiter was great. Did not rush us at all be was always there when needed. Pasta and pizza were very good. A nice hotel restaurant.
