Gjelina is a restaurant specializing in New American cuisine. Open every day from 8 a.m. until 11pm, serving breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner. For breakfast, try 9 grain pancakes with butter and maple syrup or warm banana buckwheat loaf with butter and jam of the day. Brunch options include Moroccan baked eggs and 7 grain porridge. We had a nice Christmas Eve dinner here. The food was excellent as usual, however it was served family style and since there was only the two of us, it was too much food! We took about one-half of it home, but I think there should have been a choice of appetizers and entrees offered.

We had booked a reservation for Christmas Eve a month in advance, but when we arrived we were not seated for 30 minutes past our reservation time. Nevertheless, once we were seated the service was prompt and friendly, and all of the food was delicious. The various vegetable sides were terrific, including the broccolini, the kombucha squash, and the carrots.

Had a great time. The waitress was more than patient with friends and I. One of them had diet restrictions and she patiently gave us time to figure out how the menu would work for her. The seating and lights where stunning and food was really good. To our surprise, we came on a day they did karaoke and had a lot of fun before heading out. We stayed much longer than we thought we would. Love the free parking. Cute little quaint area. Would definitely go back for the try all menu.

It took a while to get our coffees, but other than that, the food was absolutely delicious. The six of us agreed that it may have been the best breakfast we have had in the LA area.
