When visiting the restaurant, patrons descend 18 feet underground in a canopied glass elevator, accessed from street level, for a culinary experience unlike any other. The American Steakhouse offers an expansive 1,800 square foot subterranean courtyard allowing patrons to dine al fresco and enjoy a New Orleans-inspired exterior space. This cool oasis is complete with a 20 foot, 5-tiered granite water wall, multi-tiered landscaping, lava rock fire pit, and black granite bar. Dakota's below-ground patio has long been considered one of the city's most romantic dining spots.We believe the best steaks come from the best cut and quality. That’s why we get all of our beef fresh from renowned beef purveyors, Allen Brothers. Each cut is corn and grain fed USDA Prime steak that our chef handpicks. We had a anniversary dinner date here. They received us both well with smiles and attention. They had a not wishing us a happy anniversary and rose petals around the center light. Our food was delicious! They were nice enough to give us dessert on the house. Always a lovely experience here.

Sat in the “gazebo” across from the main entrance. Absolutely lovely. Ambiance was great and food was really good. They store their wines in a cellar so the older wine that I selected had aged properly. Absolutely will be back the next time we are in town.

We've been to Ellie's a few times over the years, but this visit was really lovely. The holiday decor is fabulous as ever, and the Jazz trio playing was really special. The service was great today, too. The menu seems to have been given a refresh since we've last visited, and we enjoyed our brunch options.
