Our “finest hour” was most definitely during the Battle of Britain in World War II, when we were commandeered by the RAF to serve as an auxiliary mess for Fighter Command at RAF Kenley. Best Sunday lunch for a long time… frank sinatra wanabee was good and a nice touch but our table was bang next to the speaker so not much intimacy… although we enjoyed and had a fab time, others may have found it too much… all in all a decent afternoon! Would go back.
