Growing up in Italy, my family cooked at home and had the most extraordinary experiences with ingredients grown in our backyard, paired with the wines my chef/restaurateur stepfather would bring back from regions throughout Italy. I fell in love with food as a child watching my stepfather, once nominated a top chef in Italy, work in restaurant kitchens and floors. This is one of our favorite restaurants! We went for my fiancé’s birthday and the food was absolutely incredible and so fresh. The ambience is super nice and private and it’s just the best local spot.

Food is amazing. We had the sea bass and some incredible sushi rolls. Cocktails were also delicious. The only negative is the booths are not great for your back as they offer no lumbar support at all. Everything else was fantastic.

Excellent food and service was very attentive. I had an early dinner around 5:30 so it wasn’t crowded at all—so quiet and service was great. The special was chicken pozole and it did not disappoint. Followed by the The Gobernador tacos, then a guava empanada for dessert. The tacos had such great flavor along with the jicama slaw—perfect addition. Go to Socalo, you won’t regret it.

First time at this restaurant in the Brentwood market. The food was quite good, the service friendly if a bit slow, the ambience OK. The noise level was tolerable, mostly… The prices are unreasonable for what is offered, however; $200 for a couple, one glass of wine each, shared appetizer, one course each, plus shared desert. Had we chosen more expensive items from the menu, it could have been much higher.
