Poggio is a classic Italian trattoria with comfortable neighborhood charm and destination-caliber cuisine. Created by Larry Mindel, who also founded numerous other restaurants in the Bay Area and beyond, Poggio has been ranked among the very best Italian restaurants since it opened. Led by Executive Chef and Partner Ben Balesteri, Poggio’s daily changing menus use the best available local ingredients including dishes inspired by the seasonal bounty of our local farmers, ranchers and fishermen and the traditional methods of Italy, including wood-fired ovens, house made pastas from scratch and a wide variety of dishes serving guests breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We’re honored to have been awarded a Bib Gourmand distinction by the Michelin guide in 2017, 2018, and along with being named Best Italian restaurant in Marin County by Marin Magazine in 2021.

Hi Neighbor!At Trestle, we remember a time, not too long ago, where people took pause to enjoy a meal in the presence of great company, giving it the reverence and respect deserved.     I was a little surprised at the clam chowder, which is shellfish in a broth, not the creamy kind I am used to. It was good, but it is a lot of work to separate the clams from their shells, dispose of the shells, then dig out the clams from withinthe broth. Interesting experience! The shrimp risotto was excellent, the Dry Creek Sauvignon Blanc accompanied it well, and to finish, the affogato was really nice. Mency was attentive and professional. And we had a perfect table, in the corner overlooking the water. The weather was drizzly and foggy, which the restaurant can't control (I'm sure they wish they could), so I'll try to be back when I can enjoy the view.

    This is a wonderful gem of a restaurant. During the day, a lively, buzzing cafe then transforms into a neighborhood comfortable French experience that makes you feel welcome with beautiful food, soft music, great wines and joyful professional not stiff service. Look forward to going again soon!

    Poggio is my go-to restaurant. It never disappoints. The food, the service, the ambiance are all top notch. My return guests from out of town always request at least one meal at Poggio. First timers have remarked, “if only we had a restaurant like this back home”. Well done!

    Angelinos was beautifully decorated for the holidays and very welcoming on a wet, blustery night. The staff is always friendly and the food was delicious with many fall flavors. And don’t miss out on the incredible pumpkin cheesecake!
