Growing up in Italy, my family cooked at home and had the most extraordinary experiences with ingredients grown in our backyard, paired with the wines my chef/restaurateur stepfather would bring back from regions throughout Italy. I fell in love with food as a child watching my stepfather, once nominated a top chef in Italy, work in restaurant kitchens and floors. Moving to California in 1991 and subsequently to Santa Monica and experiencing the Farmers Market inspired me to start Orto - Italian for “vegetable garden” - where I meld local ingredients and organic herbs grown here at the restaurant to create traditional Italian recipes. At our bar you’ll find a cocktail list created from fresh herbs and premium spirits, and our wine list focuses on sustainable and organic producers.     We had a great experience for Valentine’s Day. The servers were very attending and the restaurant had nice ambiance. I especially liked that they offered a purchase of a dozen roses before the reservation, which allowed me to surprise my partner. As for food, everything we had was delicious. Definitely recommend the Spicy Salmon Tartare Cones, Handmade Cavatelli, and Truffle Filet.

    I had an amazing dining experience at Fitoor. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly and seated right away, setting the tone for a fantastic meal. The drinks were a delightful start-the Guava Mocktail was absolutely delicious, and the Sakura was just as refreshing. For appetizers, the Bombay Papdi Bhel and Open Fire Chicken Kebab were must-tries—bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. The Truffle Mushroom Kulcha was a true delicacy, with its rich, earthy flavors perfectly balanced. To end on a sweet note, the Gulab Jamun Crème Brûlée and Paan Ice Cream were the perfect indulgences, blending traditional and modern flavors seamlessly. If you’re looking for a place that offers incredible food, great service, and a memorable dining experience, look no further. You will not be disappointed!
