What Dear John’s is to steak, Dear Jane’s will be to seafood. Seasoned chefs and entrepreneurs Hans Röckenwagner and Josiah Citrin have teamed up again for Dear Jane's. Taking full advantage of the stunning marina view, the focus is on classic American seafood dishes prepared simply with the highest-quality ingredients by seasoned chefs. From Oysters Rockefeller to Shrimp Louie, Surf ‘n Turf and Crepes Zuzette, the menu hews to those of some of the most legendary seafood restaurants of the 60s, 70s, and 80s. Ospi is the sophomore restaurant of Jackson & Melissa Kalb, focused on Southern Italian cooking and way of life. The name derives from ospitante (“host” in Italian), with the expectation that guests will feel as comfortable at Ospi as they would at a friend’s dinner party. There will be plenty of house-made pastas as well as an expanded offering of pizzas. The beverage program crafted by Kalb features mostly Californian and Southern Italian wines and a full bar with a special negroni section. At Ospi, the pizza is inspired by the techniques of Antico Forno Roscioli which Jackson and Melissa frequented while visiting Rome. Focusing on Romana Tonda-style crusts that are cracker-thin, he is adapting a recipe that he feels will resonate with the LA diner. Dear Jane’s is always a pleasure, another neighborhood gem for a group that specializes in them (Dear John’s, Charcoal, Citrin/Melisse). The Thanksgiving fair was varied and wonderful. Everything from the turkey to the green beans was savory and delicious. Living close, we’ll be back soon!

Thanksgiving dinner was excellent. Both the soup and salad were well done, The dinner entree was just right. As usual, the staff were attentive and friendly.

We had a fantastic time! Andrew was very helpful with our last-minute reservation update. Our waiter was also kind and attentive to all our needs. The food was great, and the quantity they served was perfect.
