The Lexington is more than a restaurant, it’s an institution. Located on the corner of Lexington Parkway and Grand Avenue, this St. Paul community was the most fashionable at the turn of the 19th century. The St. Paul elite lived just blocks away and the first electric trolley brought visitors up and down Grand Avenue. The Lexington opened in 1935, after the end of prohibition, and was a popular neighborhood bar to gather and socialize. Previously operating as a speakeasy, the expansive wood panels were perfect for hiding a little booze and one can only imagine the shenanigans going on beyond the hidden staircase behind the coat check. Had date night here with my boyfriend and we loved it. I’ve been here before but he hadn’t and he was VERY impressed. We opted for seafood options (lobster pappardelle and salmon) instead of steaks and even these dishes were phenomenal! HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Our server was wonderful and the food was amazing - pistachio salmon especially. Feels like a special event. Ambiance was like a nice business lunch in New York..been a while but you get what I mean. Linen tablecloths, positive upbeat vibes, welcoming host, great service. Ok, maybe not like NY, exactly, lol

The dinner at the Lexington was great from the valet parking to the Key Lime pie. Our waiter Adam and his assistants Shaun and Sophia very knowledgeable with just the right amount of attention to detail. The filet mignon steaks were grilled to perfection and the asparagus was very tasty. We look forward to our next visit.
