As one of the most beloved (and highest-rated) Italian restaurants in Chicago for over 22 years, the historic Buona Terra continues to serve scratch made pastas, brick oven pizza, fresh fish and seafood options as well as chops and steaks. The wine selection is meticulously chosen (and inspired by our yearly trips to Italy for the Vin Italy fair) to pair with our different plates made with the freshest ingredients. Chef Chepe sources fresh items from the market daily. He butchers our fish and meats daily, makes all of our sauces and soups in house and most of our deserts.     Great food, everything was delicious. We live close by and have been here a couple of times, love that they have a community table for walk ins since reservations are hard to get. I have a cough and jokingly asked if they could make me a hot toddy. After initially saying no, they procured the ingredients and surprised me with one, which I thought was super extra!

    Amazing, authentic food with good service. We were in the back room and there was an excellent ambiance and decor. One of my fave restaurants!

    It’s crazy to think there are only three of these restaurants left in the world. We used to go to the Oak Brook location but now we finally got to visit the one in Chicago. We were pleasantly surprised to find out that this was the original one. It’s a classic French bistro fare with amazing servers and food. I highly recommend the steak and frites!  make sure to get your reservation early because we had to dine at 4:45 PM due to later dinner times not being available

    I’ve been to some of the best and hardest restaurants to get into in. This is one of the best meals I’ve ever had. Completely blown away. The flavors were very unique. The spice was perfect. If I’m being picky though the waiter didn’t ask us one time how the food was. Not much conversation. I understand how crazy busy it is but there should be something other than taking our order. He was really nice though. I already made 2 more reservations. 😂
