In 1688, Joseph Haviland built a tidewater gristmill that provided the locally-grown grains to a nearby bakery that supplied farmers and tradesmen with bread. It was the first public oven in New York State. Haviland’s Old Grist Mill and the public bakery were community gathering places for two centuries. Inspired by Joseph Haviland’s noble efforts, the Haviland Kitchen & Bar has been established for our neighbors. It was our first time there and it was a great experience. Our server was great and the food was delicious and even though it was very busy we could hear ourselves talk! We met Felicia and she couldn’t have been more welcoming. We will be coming back.

Took my parents out for an early Christmas dinner with my wife. Great food, great drinks. The chocolate old fashion was delicious as was the white Christmas cosmo. Service was outstanding. Would highly recommend
