Welcome to SKÅL Nordic Dining - the neighbourhood Nordic restaurant located in a Grade II listed building at 149 Upper Street - a well-known address for high quality Scandinavian food and drink. Our restaurant SKÅL, meaning ‘Cheers’ in Swedish, opened on the 2nd of December 2019. We serve traditional Nordic recipes but with a modern, seasonal twist - all underpinned by the term 'husmanskost' meaning traditional home cooked Swedish food. Clean, earthy, minimalist interiors set the tone for our customers dining experience with whitewashed walls, wooden table tops and piles of logs stacked up in front of the open kitchen to fuel the grill. Beautiful restaurant in the heart of Covent Garden. Great decor and atmosphere- cosy and comfortable. Set lunch was very good and excellent value. It was very busy and thus initial service was a little slow, but otherwise excellent, and no pressure to finish/leave (our booking was 2.00pm). Would definitely return.

Fabulous food, fabulous wine list all in a fabulous setting. I said to the maitre de when leaving, “better than Scott’s of Mayfair”. Outstanding.

Very wide choice of menu. Might have been better to limit it at lunchtime. Restaurant empty when we arrived at 12.30 but full by 1.30. Book early for a table. Food a bit variable - some very good, rabbit stew tasty but a bit tough. Coq au Vin first rate . Chocolate musse for dessert not dark enough! Billed as dark chocolate but didn't taste more than 50% cocoa. House red very good value. Service genial and efficient.

A simple menu but all delicious. Everything is gluten free except the rye bread, obviously, and including the desserts. I recommend the meat balls. End the meal with a small glass of aquavit. Lovely meal.
