In 1688, Joseph Haviland built a tidewater gristmill that provided the locally-grown grains to a nearby bakery that supplied farmers and tradesmen with bread. It was the first public oven in New York State. Haviland’s Old Grist Mill and the public bakery were community gathering places for two centuries. Fantastic dinner. Food is always top notch. The dry age strip was perfect. The scallops were beautifully presented. The service however is why we will always come here. From the hostess, Kayla, who made sure to stop by our table and welcome us back even though she was busy with other people to the server and busser Nick and Douglas who are so attentive. Can’t wait to come back.
