Stella Modern Italian Cuisine specializes in fresh seasonal menus featuring local and organic ingredients when possible. The wood burning oven is the heart of the restaurant, producing Roman style pizza and the majority of the menu. Our culinary team led by Executive Chef Sara Howard has created a modern menu using ideas that begin with traditional Italian dishes. James Beard Award-winning Chef Andrew Black makes his way back to Skirvin Hotel to open his newest restaurant concept, Perle Mesta. The restaurant will be his first concept to open since winning a James Beard award as 2023’s Best Chef Southwest and will be located on the first floor of the historic Skirvin Hotel (One Park Avenue, Oklahoma City). Perle Mesta will offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner service and the cuisine will reflect Chef Black’s continued exploration of what he calls “possibility cuisine,” a concept he attributes to his style of cooking that explores and embraces the endless possibilities of ingredients, flavors, techniques, and cultural influences. In this context, possibility cuisine involves chefs pushing the boundaries of traditional cooking and experimenting with unconventional ingredients, fusion cuisine, molecular gastronomy, or avant-garde techniques. It may involve a sense of creativity, innovation, and openness to exploring new culinary horizons.

    My wife and I have eaten here three times, it’s been very good each time. We love coming here. I brought her here the night I proposed, her birthday, and for our first anniversary. Wonderful place to make memories and have good food. The staff is very nice and friendly. They are informative and will answer any questions you have. If they don’t know they will find out for you. The food portions aren’t too big or too small. I recommend Stella to people who love Italian food and a great glass of wine.

    This was the best meal we have ever had at a restaurant! From drinks to the food, my husband and I loved it all! We got a bottle of their house Cabernet Sauvignon, “society”, and it was spectacular. For food we ordered escargot, The Chalkboard beef wellington, and the bread pudding for dessert. Everything was DELICIOUS! Plus, our server, Erika, was wonderful and very helpful. 1000% recommend! 🤩

    Setting is a truly grand space - magnificent ceiling, marble columns, historic murals - within the old National Bank. Tellers nevertheless feels relaxed and special at the same time. Menu is mostly Italian cuisine, but also featured a delicious (and reasonably priced!) filet mignon. Short rib rigatoni was also very tasty! Service from our waiter, Ben, was professional and friendly! A great choice in OKC!!
