The menu features many of his signature classic comfort foods such as his Famous Buttermilk Fried Chicken, French 75's Onion Soup, and Whiskey Shrimp Dijon, featured at his Tavern House Kitchen+Bar in Newport Beach. One of our favorite neighborhood haunts and always a pleasure. We especially love the patio. The weather did not permit patio seating this particular night with the combination of Santa Ana winds and a particularly chilly temperature for SoCal, but we found the interior a lovely change. During the weekend the dining room can get a bit loud as the acoustics aren’t great, but since we were here during the off season for SJC (and on a weeknight) it was fairly quiet. Our server was fabulous and the food was exceptional. The squash blossom flatbread is a must!!

Waitress was a little confused and initially brought the wrong tea. She was apologetic and may have been new. My only complaint is there was a small dog at the table near us that was barking off and on. Felt they should have been asked to take the dog out of it couldn’t behave or stop barking. Luckily it was towards the end of our time there but feel bad for others who just got there. Other than that had a great time and enjoyed the food.

You can’t beat Luciano’s for atmosphere, and when you can find a good Italian restaurant with veal parmigiana on the menu, you go for it! It’s what we might have called back in New Jersey “a classy joint!”

We found our new "home table" a high top in the small bar area. It was perfect, the greeting, the service and the two specials. We had a wonderful evening and the bar was quiet so we could talk and enjoy ourselves.
