Higher Ground is a British bistro and bar located in Manchester city centre that focuses on seasonality within the UK using produce sourced from local suppliers and producers. The restaurant is open Wednesday to Saturday at dinner and at lunchtime on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.At lunch a £40pp seasonal sharing menu is offered alongside an à la carte menu. At dinner, both an à la carte and a seasonal sharing menu at £60pp are available. I arrived and sat at the bar initially. I was told my table is being prepared. I was alone and the restaurant was more than half empty, yet I was made to wait 30 minutes before I prompted them to seat me. I felt this was poor. Once I sat at the table everything was fine but I was alone as I mentioned , had one cocktail while I was waiting (good ploy) and a carafe of wine but found it ridiculously expensive to be honest…£192.00 for one person.

First time there and service is friendly and welcoming, food feels very homely and is lovely. Pricing is more than fair and makes for a perfect date night! Would definitely recommend
