Bringing 1940s Paris to modern-day Edinburgh, Café St Honoré restaurant is a charming bistro serving up traditional French cuisine (with a few Scottish favourites thrown in) to a loyal clientele. Tucked away on a picturesque cobbled lane in the New Town, the cosy dining room at Café St Honore, with mirrored walls and black-and-white tiled floors, provides an atmospheric retreat. The team here are passionate about local, organic produce, so the menu changes daily. There are prix fixe menus on offer at lunch and dinner if you’re after a bargain, or just need an excuse to indulge in dessert. In the evening, a seasonal menu du jour is available alongside the full a la carte, which features dishes like roast pheasant with red cabbage and pancetta; Our warming Cafe St Honore Cassoulet; and vanilla crème brûlée. We are a small, family run restaurant since 2002 specialising in carefully sourced Aberdeen Angus beef from Scottish small highland farms, cooked simply but with flair and attention to detail.Our emphasis is on high quality local ingredients and fresh produce from the best of local suppliers. Beef is selected, prepared and hung for us by Award wining "John Gilmour" of Macmerry master butchers since 1946. Fresh fish are delivered daily by Calum Sinclair and J.K Thompsons. Amazing staff and service, the staff were incredible, food delicious, fed our dog too, lovely chat with all the staff, couldn't do enough for us. Complimentary oysters and a glass of prosecco, how fantastic, special shout out to the lady at the till with the auburn hair, sorry forgot her name, and Gordon, we were looked after so well, A BIG Thank you to you all. Well definitely be back 😊

A beautiful festive treat. We felt like we’d walked into a Parisian bistro somewhere off Place de la Republic. All the food was awesome (my bourguignon with buttery mash was delicious) and the drinks (rum old fashioned, bottle of Corbiere) were perfect. Add in an attentive service, great ambience and a wedding party, wandering through to rapturous applause, and we had everything to make this a highly memorable and enjoyable lunchtime. Highly recommended. Magnifique!

We all thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. Was a wee bit dissapointed that the Christmas menu had disappeared. In saying that the choices were lovely. We brought our two friends for lunch instead of buying them gifts. The service was excellent. We will get back again.

Le lieu était splendide ! Le service impeccable ! La nourriture était excellente, nous avons pris le menu de Noël et tout était délicieux ! Des petits crackers étaient disposés sur la table avec une petite attention pour les clients ce qui était appréciable !!
