Nestled on the waterfront in Irvington, New York, Red Hat on the River is an American modern bistro serving satisfied diners since 2003. I've been wanting to eat here for a long time so brought my west coast sister and nephew who were craving NY pizza. Our server was awesome! The front room has a funky, lively vibe. The food was ok. My nephew had the margarita, sis had the lemon pizza and I had the pepperoni version. For someone who ate often at a famed Bushwick establishment, Parlor is only 80% as good by comparison. The crust here is too dense for me. Our salad was great but the calamari order was over-fried and our drinks were poor approximations of an old fashioned. Maybe it was just an off night given other reviews have inspired me to put this on my "must go" list. Still better than most pizza in lower Westchester and the location is iconic Rivertown so I'd say give it a try.

Wonderful menu options at this cozy place where service is so nice. Gourmet food store in front in enticing. We didn’t see our waiter for a half hour at the end of the meal, but we didn’t care, as we had a relaxing time with old friends. Cauliflower bites were too spicy, but I should haves told the waiter I had a spice issue as did our guest. Burgers are wonderful but bun wasn’t soft enough for one guest. Otherwise, it’s the best burger ever, per my husband. This is the best option for dinner in Tarrytown.
