Open since 1985, this delightful, unpretentious restaurant in Forest Hill, London, is renowned for its stunning and innovative modern Indian cuisine. Babur's stylish, earthy interior features exposed brick walls, natural wooden furniture and beautiful handmade Bengali artworks. The intimate atmosphere and sensational staff have made Babur a favourite dining destination with Forest Hill locals, and the food is worth making a trip across town for. We highly recommend the spicy sardine fish cake stuffed with caramelised figs; sandalwood ostrich infused with fenugreek; and black cod in spices and mustard oil with mustard mash. The wine list, designed by Peter McCombie, is also superb and features 16 wines by the glass, and 34 bottles for under £20.

Blacklock is a modern version of the Great British chophouse. Set in an old electricity substation on the site of London"s oldest meat market. We take the best meat in the country from the award-winning farmer and butcher Philip Warren in Cornwall. We cook chops simply over our real charcoal grill with a little help from vintage Blacklock irons and serve it all up alongside cocktails that give back and wine on tap in our atmospheric subterranean chop mecca. Restaurant is absolutely amazing. Staff are all lovely and the food is sensational. Couldn’t have asked for anything to be better. The price is definitely worth it for the experience received. My water was always filled and there was always something offered to me e.g. bread or another drink, etc. One of my favourite restaurants and will definitely be going back.

Food was amazing and the staff were very tentative and made our experience brilliant. My partner loved everyone saying Happy Birthday to him and the cheesecake!! Thank you, we will definitely be returning next time we’re in London.

Was initially apprehensive given that Ting's views might mean that the restaurant borders on touristic (and overly busy such that food and service would be compromised) - although was pleasantly surprised by the overall experience. Food was good, service was impeccable and seamless, and the team was very thoughtful (in assisting with my mum's birthday celebration). Great value for money to, with the weekday set lunch!
