The Durham Ox is a family owned traditional village Inn offering friendly and efficient service; showcasing the best of local produce in our menu, as well as stocking an extensive range of wines and cask ales. Lovely place, great service, welcoming, comfortable. Good delicious, delicious breakfast & large pot of tea. Sour dough bread large & delicious, can share between 2 people. Place is lovely & in a great location.

Breakfast on Christmas Eve. Ate of set menu. Good food-as usual. Great coffee. Friendly helpful and very pleasant staff. Very Good value for money.

Excellent, delicious and beautifully presented dishes. Our server Imogen was very professional and efficient and a credit to the restaurant. The Lobster Thermidor was one of the best I’ve ever eaten. The only negative was the poor service in the hotel bar beforehand. We had to wait quite a while but no one came to take our order even though there were staff behind the bar. In addition, the loud crashing of glass bottles being thrown into the bin behind the bar really spoilt the ambiance, not a great start to the evening sadly
