Since 1981 La Calle Doces has been serving the Dallas area delicious seafood and Tex-Mex made with the freshest ingredients. In 1983, after the success of La Calle Doce, Oscar and Laura Sanchez wanted to open another restaurant but they didn’t want to duplicate their previous success nor did they want to open just another Tex-Mex restaurant. Oscar wanted something that wasn’t found in Dallas, something that reminded him of home. Since both Oscar and Laura are from Monterrey, Nuevo Leon in Northern Mexico, they decided to open a restaurant that specialized in Comida Norteño (northern food) and Tex-Mex featuring dishes such as cabrito, mollejas, and asado de puerco. Today El Ranchito is known for it’s authentic Mexican food, freshly made tortillas and festive atmosphere where mariachis play daily. These elements – the food, the music and the friendly staff – have helped El Ranchito achieve it’s ultimate goal of creating an atmosphere where the customer feels as if they are back home in Monterrey.

    Treated my wife to a day date. From the moment we walked in, the hostess at the host stand was welcoming and our server Jordan was outstanding with his recommendations. I had the Chicken Parm with the vodka sauce and my wife had the blackened pork chops. We both were surprised at the large portions. The ambience was very inviting. Our only negative review would be the dessert. We wanted the chocolate cake fondue to be warmer and we thought it was too rich. We couldn’t finish it. It was delicious but way too rich for us. Overall, great value, tasty menu and great service. We can’t wait to go back.

    Great service! Only thing is I requested a seat upstairs by the window but was seated downstairs in the patio area. When I made the reservation online via OpenTable the only two options for reservations were the bar and patio and I chose patio, but I added the note for my seating preference in the additional comments sections. Day of I called to confirm my seating request and was told I couldn’t get that seating because I chose patio online.
