A Family Tradition For Over 90 YearsMrs. Knott’s Chicken Dinner Restaurant first opened in 1934 with Mrs. Knott and her children serving the first customers in their tea room. The restaurant has grown over the years into one of the largest in California, but the classic fried chicken dinner is still made the same way today using Mrs. Knott's recipes. Every complete chicken dinner includes handmade biscuits, side salad, choice of cabbage or cherry rhubarb, three pieces of fried chicken, and mashed potatoes smothered in gravy. For dessert: your choice of boysenberry pie or boysenberry sherbet. Many other dishes are also available including grilled chicken, salads, and a number of appetizers. A full-service bar, serving signature boysenberry-infused cocktails, is also available.Currently, we are following all government-issued regulations and seating is currently outside only.     The Carne Asada is amazing. I probably come here twice a month for it. My wife likes to mix it up a little bit more. She really likes the salads and last night. She had the mahi-mahi. We enjoy sitting on the patio, especially on weekends when the weather is nice.

    We have been coming here since it opened along with its sister restaurant Cha Cha's, just a few doors down. Our favorite spot if it is just the two of us is the bar. The bartenders have changed over the years, but the caliber of service has not. If you arrive late for a drink & dinner, you are never rushed...actually I hadn't even realized we were the last as my husband and I asked about different liquors we hadn't noticed before. You can't go wrong with the Almafi Fizz, my favorite and one of their signature drinks. Their food is outstanding, love the scallops! Last night we went for my husband's birthday...it was Monday night special, lasagna, garlic bread & Caesar salad for I believe was $20. I can eat, yet I took half of it home! My husband loves their chicken parmesan...he too took half home and was pleased that they presented him with tiramisu & a candle for his birthday...the extra touch appreciated! Yes, I would give them a 10! We will be back next week for a relaxing dinner or maybe Cha Cha's for a little more noise... let's face it, tacos, tequila brings the noise level up!
