The Derby is more than a restaurant. Established in 1922, it has been family owned and operated since 1951. It is a grand museum showcasing some of horse racing’s greatest moments. Diners are invited to take a break from the rush of modern life and travel back to the time of George Woolf, Seabiscuit, and relive the excitement of “The Race of the Century”. We excel in offering the best meat and fresh seafood hand selected by our longtime executive chef that would delight even the most discriminating of taste.     From the beginning: The hostesses were super nice upon checking in to our reservation. Drinks & food were phenomenal! Valerie was such an amazing server! We truly had the best time! She was attentive, funny & really sweet. The manager, JR was so nice! He came by to check in& made us feel welcome! We will be coming back again for dinner OR brunch. Thank you all for making my birthday dinner special 😊

    Took my wife for her birthday and it was amazing, the service was so good and everyone was so friendly and polite to us. We were able to get window seats and the view was unreal. Definitely coming back again soon. P.S Food 100/10 👍🏻👍🏻

    This was my first time indulging in Bavel and I’m surprised it took me this long! The food was better than I expected and definitely is a standout in terms of unique flavor that go beyond the normal LA food scene taste. The service is one to admire - excellent timing and a great explanation of every dish. We especially appreciated the napkin folding during “bathroom breaks”. Can’t stop thinking about the celery root and rack of lamb.
