Morimoto's contemporary Japanese menu infuses traditional dishes with Western ingredients and preparation techniques. I just love Babette. The patio is beautiful, brick walls and glowing lights under the big redwood, the indoor space interesting and stylish and warm. The food is a treat. Today we had the borscht with short ribs, unusual and delicious. Also the 2 cheese and grilled onion sandwich, and the baby gem salad with poached salmon. The salads had thin cumquat slices and grapefruit as well as greens, very fresh. Also the almond pistachio cake that we shared with a candle since we were celebrating a birthday. Every bite was a pleasure. I am so glad that Babette is open for lunch now!

From the time we entered the front door until we departed, we experienced best in class service. The host sat us promptly, the waiter was quick to let us know what was new on the menu, and the servers brought out beautifully plated dishes. All with wide smiles. As for the food…5 star. Little gem salad dressing was incredible, and the Pork Chop was killer. All the above is consistent every time we have been here.

The restaurant has a very nice ambiance. Happy hour cocktails are great and very reasonably priced. The music was a bit too loud. A bit softer music would be more appropriate for the dinner crowd. Server was attentive and pleasant.

Kind of chaotic, sit at this table then no take this one. Food pretty excellent with the exception of Beef with Chilli Oil- overwhelmed by the oil. Other dishes were excellent. Overall good experience.
