We’re striving to push the boundaries with Indian flavours, but with cooking techniques from all over the world, some traditional, and some very modern. We specialise in pho, the Vietnamese noodle soup, and also serve delicious curries, rice dishes, wok-fried noodles and healthy salads, too. Itihaas restaurant in Birmingham is one stunning eaterie. This beautiful restaurant —the name means ‘history’ -- is the £2 million brainchild of businessman Raj Rana and it’s been raking in awards since it opened its doors. The décor is contemporary meets traditional with two dining rooms honouring colonial and maharaja eras – there are slate finished walls, original paintings, carved stone elephants, Jali marble window frames like those found in Mogul palaces and elegant black sari-clad hostesses. Welcome was enthusiastic polite and friendly. Service was very good... Although my main course arrived seconds after I had finished my starter. I would have liked a little more time to settle my starter. Wine [Nero d'Avolo) was excellent.. overall a very pleasant experience. I will certainly go again. Itihaas was recommended to me ... I in turn will certainly recommend to others.. many thanks and compliments to all the team at Itihaas
