Nami Nori is a casual, Japanese restaurant specializing in open-style temaki hand rolls, located in Montclair. The menu features signature hand rolls, including crunchy varieties, as well as classic versions, and a special vegan section. Japanese-inspired dishes from the kitchen and desserts are also on offer. We accept reservations up to 30 days in advance. Please note that the grace period is 10 minutes for guests who are running late. Chef/Owner James DeSisto has a seasonal a la carte menu featuring fresh seafood, pasta, steaks, and appetizers. In addition there is a chef’s special menu featuring local and seasonal food from all over NJ, PA, and NY please keep in mind this menu changes weekly. Imaginative bites, that are quite substantial. This is one of our favorite restaurants for the thoughtful treatment of ingredients. Service is attentive but not intrusive and can answer any questions regarding the dishes and preparations.

A cascade of flowers and the mural paintings really grabs up when you walk in. The service is friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The kale fritters were so crunchy delicious that we were enchanted. The grilled shrimp were juicy and spicy. All the serving bowls, platters are handcrafted and unique. The meal was so well spiced and two entrees were enough for 3 people. The mango ice cream cubes were a revelation! Def worth a return visit!

My daughter and I both had the salmon special. It was excellent as was the service!! My husband and son- in- law both had a pasta special. Both pasta dishes were very fresh and delicious!! The staff is all top notch!!!

The chicken shish-everyone will love, tender and spicy. The pita bread is so good with their hummus, it's a great start The MANTI with mushrooms is beautifully spiced, the flavor in the sauce is very rich but instantly delicious. I love the Turkish coffee-it's an original. Desserts are lovely, chocolate mousse-exceptional. I'm going back to try new dishes, the menu has a nice variety. Excellent staff, courteous and friendly. I's a big hit!

We went here for dinner at 5:30, so I it may not be true of a later crowded space, but the tapas & service were outstanding at that time. We can't wait to go back when the weather is better to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful views.
