A luxurious spot designed and built by Vacuum Studio featuring a highly pigmented colour palette inspired by our global travels. Lighting is low, volume can get high and the intimate booth seating is a perfect facilitator for conversation. Our menu is comprised of snacks, appetisers, larger plates and deserts made entirely in-house* and their flavour profiles are amplified with chillis, herbs and citrus being heavily inspired by Los Angeles' multiculturalism.Our restaurant is compact and cosy with no extra space to accommodate prams and large dogs - if you do need to bring your dog to dinner please ensure they are comfortable in a busy restaurant atmosphere and are happy sitting on your lap or fit comfortably under your table. Our magical conservatory restaurant is set amid Updown’s rambling grounds. Dine under the grape vines surrounded by beautiful 17th century brick and watch the chefs in the open kitchen tending to the wood fired grill and original farm house bread oven. The restaurant has been completely transformed by owners Ruth and Oli to be heated and fully enclosed and is open year round.Menus will be small, hyper seasonal and use the best of local and European produce and change on regular basis to reflect what’s best. Everything is cooked over wood in the open kitchen. There is a short list of exciting wines of limited availability, local beers and seasonal cocktails.On Wednesday nights in place of our à la carte we cook a Steak Night menu , priced at £30 per person for 3 courses. On Sunday nights the restaurant is closed but we serve a light supper for hotel guests in the Farmhouse.

This is an amazing find on our doorstep! It was my partners birthday today and I bought him and his dad for lunch. The service was very personal, and the staff catered for each of our needs beautifully! The food was absolutely outstanding, presented in a wonderful way. The ambience was second to none! Quiet, not rushed, and not all packed into a busy restaurant! Totally and utterly 1 million per cent all round, do not hesitate, just book! You will not be disappointed!

Gave 5 stars to everything apart from ambiance. We were there at lunch time with only a few other diners, so was difficult to tell. Will absolutely go there again, and again, and again. It’s a necessity…..I need to try so much more of that menu.
