Stephen Starr's stylish addition to Rittenhouse Square pays tribute to French cafe culture, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week, ideal for a quick bite or a leisurely meal. Parc recalls the chic brasseries of Paris, serving classic French fare in a charming space. Red leather banquettes topped with frosted glass provide a sense of intimacy. Details such as well-worn wooden chairs, vintage framed paintings and photos and antique brass fixtures transport guests across the Atlantic. Mawn is a noodle house with “no rules,” and the first restaurant for Chef Phila Lorn and his wife Rachel, who bring with them close to 20 years of experience in Philly’s restaurant scene. Phila, pronounced “Pee La,” broken English for Philadelphia, is a first-generation Cambodian-American chef. The first in his family to be born here, his parents and siblings came to Philadelphia as refugees in 1985 after surviving the war in Cambodia.Mawn, which means “chicken” in Khmer, the Cambodian language, represents more than one thing. To Phila, chicken was at every meal growing up, and to his parents, chicken represented peacetime. During the war and genocide of the Cambodian people, there was mostly only what was found in nature to eat, including rice and salt. If there was chicken, it meant no war. At the end of that dark time, recipes were lost, and culture was wiped out, but through survival, a new authenticity was born.

    People are sleeping on the French toast burger foreal. Sure you can’t finish it in one sitting but then you have the other half for the best breakfast ever.

    As always the staff at Fiorella goes above and beyond. We arrived for a Valentine’s Day reservation at 5:30 inside but an earlier seating wasn’t budging and we ended up not being sat until around 6. The staff immediately apologized for the wait and set us at ease by saying, “please take your time and don’t feel rushed — we have rearranged seatings.” We then were given a welcome glass of wine and a complimentary pasta for our patience. Again the staff just went above and beyond. Every dish was perfectly prepared and delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience once again.

    Absolutely delicious food packed with flavor. Every dish we ordered was perfectly done. The papaya salad was delicious and a must try - who says that about a SALAD. The marinated beef skewer melted in your mouth. The noodles were of course a stand out! I'd probably skip the crab stir fry. It was good, but not great like everything else I tried. And make sure to save a bite of room for the rice pudding. It s was all phenomenal

    Just stopped in for some late night appetizers. The Mainland Sliders, Fried Ravioli and the Cheesesteak Egg rolls were all delicious. Always great service. The Valentine Pop-Up Bar is a festive addition and decorated beautifully. I just wish the live music would go past 9pm.
