Tired of the loosely French inspired humdrum of restaurants popping up across the city of London? Do you like holidays? Do you like cold drinks and warm service? If you've answered yes to one or more of these then perhaps Tollington's can refresh both your pallet and your mind. The idea came from a mirror in an antiques market and a love for a more informal approach to dining, the result is a chippy in North London with old church pews bolted to the walls to be leaned on and eaten from. The focus is on fish but the menu transcends fish, mammals and vegetables, leaving no stone unturned in the never ending quest for flavour. Split between two rooms, the front the engine, the kitchen and bar shared by customers as they perch on bar stools and enjoy dinner and a show. The back, bookable room is lower, lower lighting, lower seating, perhaps a slight calm compared to the front room, here works of art from friends of the restaurant adorn the walls and floors.Book now to reach Nirvana.

Westerns Laundry is a Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant focusing on seafood & natural wines. The restaurant is located in the Islington/Highbury neighbourhood of North London. It opened in 2018 and is housed in a 1950's industrial building which used to be home to the largest commercial laundry in North London. It now boasts a beautiful 60 cover dining room, which opens onto an open 20 cover cobbled courtyard with olive trees as well as an intimate private dining room. St John has long been recommended by our daughter and yesterday we finally got to take her and her partner with us! What a wonderful surprise it was! Sublime food, wonderful patient service and a truly lovely ambience. We will go again - your ‘puddings’ are to die for!

Such a lovely evening! The food was just incredible, particularly the venison tartare, pork loin and beef cheek. Just amazing. Such lovely staff who were always ready to help and even treated us to a complimentary pudding for our special occasion! The Guinness was also a major highlight. Huge fun sitting near the bar upstairs and watching the cooks create everything. Can’t wait to come back again, thank you for looking after us so brilliantly!

We all literally laughed from the minute we arrived to the minute we left. It was such a great atmosphere and all of the waiters/ waitresses were brilliant. The food was half bad either, we would definitely recommend the ‘Karen’ experience.
