We believe wine is better with food & food is better with wine. A perfect pairing is an experience everyone should enjoy..often. Our unique approach to food and wine means we are "wine first". We first curate the wine list which includes 65+ wines by the glass and then design a food menu that specifically complements the wine. The kitchen is led by Executive Chef Julian Silvera who spent his early culinary career in restaurants in his native NYC. He then took his talents to Florida's Knife and Spoon, where he helped garner a coveted Michelin star. Chef Julian is passionate about sourcing hyperlocal ingredients & has a strong focus on sustainability. Nestled in downtown Los Gatos, Polenteria serves up Italian cuisine, that is Celiac safe. We are a small 22 seat restaurant, that is very intimate. With a European feel, many of our guests proclaim that they have been whisked away to Italy or France. We love that! Many accolades from the SF Chronicle, and the Mercury News as well as Eater SF hail Chef Yvonne and her team at Polenteria for being on the cutting edge of the Gluten Free Movement, and more importantly providing a safe space for those with Celiac to dine without hesitation. Had a wonderful and delicious dinner last evening. Greeted by Ben when the doors opened and our wait staff person was Sasa! Ordered Hemingway and Pinot Noir - both very good. Had the Lobster Vol-au-Vent and Wagyu Filet Mignon, French Onion Soup and the Fennel dusted Lamb Chops - all so outstanding and delicious. Very nice way to end 2024!

Great food and service! Hush puppies are so yummy! Avo toast, burrata toast, cheeseboard, gulf shrimp, ahi poke - all stellar! Drinks were good too - I had the special that day with hibiscus - have forgotten the name. Our server was knowledgeable and steered me away from sweet drinks which I didn’t want..

We went as a family to celebrate Christmas Eve. We booked as a party of six, but one of our party bailed, so we were only five, which led to our disappointment that they still charged a fixed service charge. Additionally, for half the meal, the music was so loud, we could not talk. Once past this, our food and service was great and we all had a great time.
