Open since October of 1990, The Dakota has been a pioneer in the culinary industry on the Northshore of Lake Pontchartrain.     Third time dining here, this time as a party/dinner for my office. The food, staff, and ambience were perfect. The only thing missing disagree with is the credit card surcharge they tack onto your bill, which I do not recall being done when we dined there in September. I own a small business, and credit card fees are a cost of doing business. It should be included in the cost calculations for the price of the food being served (because hardly anyone pays cash any longer) instead of being tacked onto the bill afterwards. This is why I took one star away from my ratings of VALUE.

    My son took his girlfriend out to dinner to celebrate her 21st birthday and said that the food was delicious, service was great and almost was very festive. Definitely would go back again for other celebrations.

    Outstanding as always! Service and food were over the top! Might be the only restaurant in Covington that even when crowded, does not seem so. You can actually care on a conversation at your table without raising your voice! Always a treat to be there!
