The nineteenth century former oxen house is the newest addition to the family of meticulously restored farm buildings. The Horse and Groom Inn aims to provide great food and drink in a quintessential, traditional 16th century country inn. Dining is relaxed and informal in a friendly atmosphere. Theo & Sebastian who are brothers, started Smiths in the middle of a pandemic! We are seriously passionate about patties and are based in Bourton-On-The-water, also known as ‘Venice of the Cotswolds’. Our restaurant sits circa 30 guests making it a small, exclusive place to come and eat. Since opening, we have made it our mission to get our hands on the best possible ingredients. We also use dry aged beef with a great fat content supplied by Aubrey Allen, which marries up with our strong, unique flavour combinations giving you the ultimate bite! We cant forget about or delightful buns, which are handmade daily by a wonderful local baker. All the flour used for our buns is made up of Cotswold flour sourced from local farmers. We also pride ourselves on having a vibrant cocktail scene. All of our cocktails are bespoke to us and our syrups and flavourings are made in house!

Staff were friendly and professional. Advised on best wine with the meal. It was a Sunday evening, we arrived slightly early to the time booked but were still shown to our table. We were given the Sunday roast menu to which three had the beef and I had the lamb. The food tasted great with compliments from my guests. One asked for horseradish sauce to which was provided immediately. My lamb was a little chewy in places but overall was good. The gravy was outstanding in flavour and my guests also commented equally. This was a second visit to the Old Swan for me and two guests, the previous visit being about a year ago and both times were a great experience. Many thanks to the Old Swan and its staff

The food was incredible. At last a restaurant that serves amazing food. So well cooked and seasoned and excellent presentation. Truly outstanding. It’s been a very very very long time that we have had food this good. We were a party for 5 and every one of us was WOW this is so good. Excellent
