Accessed from the High Street and through a glass lobby, Quod restaurant with its terrace and bar, forms the hub of the Old Bank Hotel. Formerly a banking hall it was transformed by owner Jeremy Mogford to become Oxford's largest and most successful restaurant. The Fishes is a hidden gem. Quite a big gem, too. An imposing Victorian building set in acres of wooded grounds leading down to the banks of Seacourt Stream. The deck that wraps around the conservatory offers a rare opportunity in land-locked Oxford to dine outside with an idyllic view.     We visit Quod regularly and after today's meal I question why we hadn't been for a while. First course good although needed to borrow someone else's teeth to crack the croutons. Calves liver superb, could have been a little more pink but so difficult to do in a large restaurant with thin slices, mash, kale and bacon and tasty sauce set the whole meal off. Our waitress who we now know well was as good as ever and at £34.60 a head great value. See you again soon!

    The environment is cozy, food is authentic and delicious, staff are friendly and well prepared to introduce us the dishes. Since we booked for celebration, the staff did prepare some surprise for us which is out of our expectation! Thank you for cheering us up! :D

    Back to its best! This is how I remember The Fishes ….. fantastic food, the best staff, and a buzzing atmosphere! Lovely Sunday afternoon with a great roast. The staff even offered extra Yorkshire puffs…a very lovely touch! Thank you. We’ll be back… soon!

    The food was incredible. The BBQ burnt ends are cooked to perfection and the sides are just as good. Great value for money, my partner and I spent just over £20 each and were absolutely stuffed. Highly recommend.
