Serving contemporary French food, this much-loved independent restaurant has been going strong for over 22 years. Before booking, please note the restaurant has both downstairs and upstairs. The same menu options are available on both floors. There is no lift upstairs. Re Tasting Menu Timings: At lunch you must book before 1.45pm, and at dinner before 8.45pm. We went for lunch for our wedding anniversary, as it is our favourite restaurant, and decided to have the tasting menu. The meal began with a complimentary, delicious butternut soup. Every course was beautiful - beautifully cooked and presented and the amount of food was very well judged. The wine pairings were very well matched and, when I said I didn't like chardonnay, another wine was willingly chosen. Service was friendly, but professional and we weren't rushed at all.

Good experience, lovely decor, good staff though they did overhear the convo and joined in. Not sure what I think about that! With all of these types of restaurants, I think the food is over priced but that is the way of the world. I would feel better paying a cover charge and a charge for service, as that is why I go there, versus over priced food.

We really enjoyed our visit to EFES. As always we received a warm welcome, without exception the team here are very friendly and attentive. The food was great, and our daughter the Birthday girl received a piece of chocolate cake, accompanied by the whole team singing and clapping to make the occasion extra special. Looking forward to visiting again with our friends in December.
