You’ll find Plate at No. 6 down a cobbled lane in the heart of Windsor, nestled amongst the pubs and boutiques of the old town. We are a tapas restaurant, drawing upon the culinary riches of the Mediterranean Basin; our plates reflect the diversity of cuisines found in Spain, Turkey, France, Morocco, Italy, Greece and Lebanon. All our dishes are created by our head chef Olindo who draws on these inspirations his signature dishes including a seafood gnocchi.The open kitchen and lime wash walls define the chic, intimate dining space of Plate at No.6.     Family Sunday roast lunch for 6: 4 roast sirloin , 1 roast pork with crackling & 1 roast lamb. They all came with mixed veg of mange toute, roast carrots and broccoli, plus roast pots, cauliflower cheese and large individual Yorkshire puddings and were of good quality and well cooked. This resulted in 6 empty plates. The service was friendly and efficient.

    Today was my mate John's birthday. I had arranged a birthday lunch for my mate John at The White Oak at Cookham. It's part of the Brucan Group. Me and my partner had eaten at their Finchampstead pub The Greyhound on several occasions so I guess I knew roughly what to expect. We started by sharing 6 oysters. Delicious. John had the grilled mackerel on squid Bolognese with samphire. Spot on. I had the steak tartare. Delightful. We both went for the braised beef shoulder on mustard mash. Cabbage seriously good. Absolutely delicious. They kindly presented John with a happy birthday plate of chocolate brownie or sticky toffee pudding with ice cream. Made John smile. Thank you The White Oak for a perfect birthday lunch. Very highly recommended. Cheers...
