Argoe is a casual harbourside restaurant serving the best of local Cornish produce. We focus on fish and seafood, landed here in Newlyn, and take inspiration from traditional European methods of cooking. The Halsetown inn a rural grade 2 listed roadside inn situated just outside st ives on the main road between penzance and St ives. at the Halsetown we have core values good food good beer good ambience steeped in local history great for lunch or evening meal after a day out exploring.we pride ourselves on using all locally sourced produce.our Chefs Darren and Danny have worked alongside each other creating dishes and memories for the past 3 years a great partnership.they love cooking dishes especially fish dishes as being so close to the sea why notwe are in between Penzance and so close to St ives if you like walking its just 2 miles away.Halsetown was once a thriving tin mine community lots of local history the atmosphere is very laid back with great food washed down with a great ale or glass of wine we also have a little haven at the back of our pub a courtyard a nice sun trap on an afternoon or early evening

    WOW! WOW WOW! We have officially found our new favourite restaurant in Cornwall! My husband and I love fishing, we love catching and cooking our own fish. We always comment we feel that fish is over-fussed with and complicated when we eat it in restaurants. THANK YOU ARGOE for changing this!!! Finally a restaurant offering fresh, locally caught fish, cooked to perfection and letting the fish be the total star of the table, with some fabulous generous fish portions enjoyed with beautiful potatoes and gorgeous salad- the DREAM combo! The appetisers and small plates also absolutely gorgeous, with wonderful flavours. The fish soup was absolutely mind-blowing. We also loved the ray wing. The fish grilled on the open fire gave the most gorgeous smokey flavours. Finish off with the most beautiful desserts. Fabulous service and a fantastic setting. We whole-heartedly recommend Argoe, we will definitely be back, and thank you for restoring our faith in Cornish seafood restaurants!!!!

    Staff were so helpful as I have a few food intolerances and they were so accommodation! Have visited many times before and never had bad food or poor service!

    Excellent food and service. We were a table of 12, everyone got their food at the same time, it was fresh and hot. Would not hesitate to recommend The Razor Clam.
