The seasonal menu focuses on modern European cooking with a heavy French influence, highlighting the best produce Kent has to offer. Wine is certainly at the heart of what we love. A luxurious spot designed and built by Vacuum Studio featuring a highly pigmented colour palette inspired by our global travels. Lighting is low, volume can get high and the intimate booth seating is a perfect facilitator for conversation. The seasonal menus focus on provenance, showcasing the best of local Kentish ingredients, sourced directly from local farms and producers. Our magical conservatory restaurant is set amid Updown’s rambling grounds. Dine under the grape vines surrounded by beautiful 17th century brick and watch the chefs in the open kitchen tending to the wood fired grill and original farm house bread oven. The restaurant has been completely transformed by owners Ruth and Oli to be heated and fully enclosed and is open year round.Menus will be small, hyper seasonal and use the best of local and European produce and change on regular basis to reflect what’s best. Everything is cooked over wood in the open kitchen. There is a short list of exciting wines of limited availability, local beers and seasonal cocktails.On Wednesday nights in place of our à la carte we cook a Steak Night menu , priced at £30 per person for 3 courses. On Sunday nights the restaurant is closed but we serve a light supper for hotel guests in the Farmhouse.

We thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to No 9 for Sunday Roast. Excellent service and lovely menu, could not fault it. Well done to all your team. We have already planned our next visit. Would highly recommend.

From booking to the end of our visit, everything went very well. On arrival, we were shown to our table, which was by the window. We had a lovely view across the bay. Our waitress took our order for drinks and food fairly promptly as there weren’t many diners in the restaurant at the time. The restaurant gradually filled up and we were pleased we had arrived early We chose the roast beef and all the trimmings and when it arrived there was plenty of food and it was well cooked. We enjoyed our meal and our visit very much

We really enjoyed High Dive. The food was gorgeous, but I just wished the portion was a bit bigger! We were the only table in there so it was a bit quiet, but that is not the fault of the restaurant. The staff were great and the decor is lovely - I would recommend it and I would love to go back!
