Centered in the heart of Los Angeles, the historic building in which it resides was originally erected in 1929 by Charlie Chaplin, and later transformed into the iconic La Brea Bakery and Campanile Restaurant. République builds on this storied past, offering a gastronomic environment imbued with history and grandeur. James, or server was outstanding — he explained the options (gave us recommendations) and was attentive without being overbearing. The food was excellent and the pace comfortable to allow us to visit with friends we hadn’t seen for awhile.

Loved the Christmas Eve tasting. Each dish was the star of its own act....I really couldn't pick out a favorite. I love all the flavors and the architecture is so captivating. I felt transported to a different world for one night for a very special foodie experience. Thank you for making this so special for me and my family.

The food was outstanding and the service was excellent. There are so many "fancy" restaurants in Los Angeles where the food is disappointing, but this was not one of them. Having known about Republique for many years and seeing it on many "best" lists I was prepared to be disappointed, but it met my expectations. My parents and I were very pleased with our meal, the service, and the ambience which is beautiful. It qualifies as one of the best restaurants we've eaten at in Los Angeles, and is deserving of its designation as one of LA's top restaurants.
