Butterjoint is a comfy bar and restaurant located in North Oakland. Our welcoming and eclectic atmosphere is appropriate for almost any occasion - whether it be meeting a friend for a drink, celebrating an important event, or relaxing after work. Our menu is a mixture of familiar Pittsburgh foods (think pierogies, hamburgers, French fries) and French bistro classics (beef tartare, raclette, mussels), and seasonal classics that come and go throughout the year. We put care into our vegetarian dishes too, including making our own tempeh, falafel, and veggie patties from scratch. Menu items change frequently--usually every day--and reflect many long-standing relationships we have with farms and breweries in our region. In addition to reservations, we also have a thirty seat bar that is first come, first serve. We don’t know exactly how old the bar is, but it’s at least seventy years old (probably older) and very cozy. Our friendly bartenders are here to make something you like.

Helen opened a take out restaurant in Latrobe, PA a few years later where her popularity exploded. My daughter & I went to Ritual House for the first time last night. We got seated in a booth near the bar. We ordered a bread board and the edamame, both were good! I ordered the Asian inspired chicken and got the sauce on the side, as recommended by the waiter. The chicken was moist and the breading perfectly done! The sauce was on the sweeter side (almost like syrup), so I am glad it was on the side. Didn’t care for the slaw. My daughter got a grilled chicken Caesar salad, she said it was good! We will definitely be back to try some different food.

Had an awesome dinner! All 5 of us in my party loved the food. Our reservation was for 5:45. We got there about 10 minutes early and we were seated immediately. Food came out super fast and was delicious! Will definitely return.

Fantastic drinks and cocktails. Love the atmosphere on the bar side. The food is usually amazing - fried pickles were less crunchy than usual and the chicken sandwich was good- but not as outstanding as usual. Overall love the place. Hoping it was just an off day.

I met a friend for dinner on a Thursday night and we had a great time catching up. The food is delicious, the service prompt, warm, and friendly, and the atmosphere cozy. Parking can be somewhat of a bear, but Lucca's is worth that relatively small inconvenience.
