Jerk at Nite, founded by Denville Myrie, Jr. in 2012, began as a solution to the lack of late-night food options at Howard University. After seeing his peers struggle with unhealthy fast food, Denville, raised in a Jamaican household, started delivering flavorful jerk chicken and other Jamaican dishes from his dorm. What began as a small campus venture evolved into a food truck business in 2015, and later, a brick-and-mortar restaurant. The menu features healthy fusion dishes, such as jerk chicken, oxtail, and jamming’ salmon, free of MSG and preservatives. Excellently prepared food with a Maryland flavor, plenty of choice from both sea and land. Wine list is comprehensive and reasonably priced. Dessert is always a highlight, the house made Candy Bar is a favorite.

Food is very good, we love the hummus and pita! Very nice waiter, only down side to service is that 2 of us got our meals and it was 10 more minutes before the 3rd person got hers (not the waiters fault). Other than that the service was very good.

Was seated right away even tho I was early and part of my party wasn’t there. Great service. Greeted promptly. Everyone was friendly. Atmosphere was relaxed, inviting. This is our second time going for Christmas Eve and will definitely be back to be able to sit outside in the warmer months. Food was delicious and inventive. Loved the hand crafted drinks. All in all a great experience.
