Vallozzi's started over 50 years ago when Helen Vallozzi was selling homemade pastas out of her home. Helen opened a take out restaurant in Latrobe, PA a few years later where her popularity exploded. In 1977, Ernie Vallozzi moved his mothers location to Greensburg where it is still open and operating today. In 2012 Ernie's son Julian expanded the tradition in to downtown Pittsburgh. Vallozzi's Pittsburgh has recently joined a mere 1,200 restaurants worldwide as a recipient of the Wine Spectator Magazine's Best of Award of Excellence and is the only Italian restaurant in Pittsburgh to receive such an honor. My daughter & I went to Ritual House for the first time last night. We got seated in a booth near the bar. We ordered a bread board and the edamame, both were good! I ordered the Asian inspired chicken and got the sauce on the side, as recommended by the waiter. The chicken was moist and the breading perfectly done! The sauce was on the sweeter side (almost like syrup), so I am glad it was on the side. Didn’t care for the slaw. My daughter got a grilled chicken Caesar salad, she said it was good! We will definitely be back to try some different food.

I booked a lunch reservation in advance without knowing it would be a different prix fixe menu. I would have preferred the regular lunch menu with a prix fixe option. That being said, the options provided a nice variety and the food was delicious. The service was outstanding, and I can’t say enough about our friendly and professional server. I appreciate the fact that the restaurant was able to provide us with a memorable experience.

Burgers were only warm, french fries cold. Chicken alfredo was extremely dry and I needed more sauce. I had to wait 10 minutes for my food while everyone else had theirs. Very disappointed.
