A typical food love story. A boy meets a girl while eating pizza. He attends culinary school and open’s a pizza restaurant named after the girl. Thus bringing us to Emily! The Manhattan iteration of the Brooklyn based pizzeria centered around a historic brick oven and comforting food. Emily has earned a following for its signature Detroit-style pies and award winning burger. The pizza here is rectangular (not round) and utilizes the "frico" technique, in which cheese is drizzled on the edges of the pie to create a crispy brown exterior. Beyond the main event, the menu extends to include salads and sandwiches, which shouldn't be ignored (think an attention-grabbing burger and a top-notch spicy fried chicken sandwich). What an extraordinary gem right here, nestled in Park Slope! We felt as though we were characters in a Jane Austen novel, having tea with friends. The staff is SO nice, friendly, well-informed, generous, and happy to be there! We cannot wait to go back! Thank you Shelby and the other lovely young person whose name I didn’t catch!

The wait staff was attentive and didn't make us feel rushed at all. When we got there, it was busy, and we sat next to a boisterous group, but other than that, we enjoyed the food and atmosphere.
