Entering the Saloon, a family owned restaurant since it opened in 1967 is a bit like stepping into Philadelphia's past. Dark oak paneling, shiny brass and authentic local antiques create a warm congenial and casual atmosphere. The choice of two comfortable dining rooms each with its own vintage bars make dining and conversation a relaxed and enjoyable experience. Both bars feature a delicious and moderately priced food menu. The menu is Italian with seafood specials such as grilled octopus and dover sole. Saloon steaks and veal chops are legendary.     I got lucky enough to visit here for Valentine's Day, and it was absolutely fantastic! The second we walked in, the vibe was intimate, elegant, and just perfect for a night out. The cuisine was amazing. The service was 10 out of 10, attentive, and made us feel rightly valued. Silky smooth, and we were never hurried. Overall, an amazing experience. I'll be returning for certain. Highly recommend for any special occasion or even if you simply want a top notch dining experience!

    We had an amazing Valentine’s Day experience. The food was delicious, the ambiance was so romantic and the live pianist set the mood perfectly, he even played a request which topped off a very special night!! Oh and the Lobster Ravioli and the NY Strip Steak was so amazing!!Thank you Bistro Romano!!!

    Wow, I’ve never had a dining experience quite like it!!! Staff and service went above and beyond. It was Valentine’s Day, and the staff signed a card for us! The food was so fresh and flavorful. The flavor of that Caesar salad… I’ll be raving about it forever.

    This was one of my favorite restaurants I’ve been too in the southeast PA area, Philly and media included. The food came out extremely fast and was fine dining quality with unique dishes. The beef tartare, lobster crepes, duck entre, and fried cheesecake were all amazing. They also accommodated our 1 year old daughter with a high chair.

    What an incredible restaurant. They have parking/valet options. Shoot out to Nick and Greg for taking care of the car. We got there early but they were able to seat us. They have high chairs for the little ones. Food is outstanding. Service is even better. Make sure you go, and go often.
