Located at Atherton Mill in Charlotte's historic South End neighborhood, Indaco (Italian for "indigo") serves Italian cuisine. Wood-fired pizzas, hand-crafted pastas, housemade salami and cured sausages fill the restaurant's menu which can be enjoyed family-style or a la carte. With an open kitchen, and a comfortable atmosphere, Indaco can seat approximately 85 guests inside for a casual night of food and drinks. The wine list is focused on affordable Italian varietals, the Gin & Tonic cocktail is on tap, and the fresh sodas are made in-house. Large windows fill the restaurant with natural light that reflects off the white subway tile, wood accents and butcher block tables. South End was home to Charlotte’s first railroad line, connecting us to Columbia and Charleston, SC in the mid-1800’s. “Link & Pin” is an old railroad term. A “Link” was installed on one railcar then, as the two railcars were joined, a “Pin” was manually inserted into the other railcar’s link, holding the two railcars together. I’ve been to Indaco before but this last experience blew me away. I went to celebrate my birthday. They had a few personalized touches, a celebratory menu with confetti, a small gift for me, and ice cream dessert on the house! The food was incredible, as usual! The burrata in particular was amazing! I’m pregnant so I wasn’t drinking, but my girlfriends mentioned the drinks were excellent as well. I’ve had plenty of birthday dinners at lots of restaurants but this was definitely one of the best!

So glad we decided to have Christmas Eve dinner at The Jimmy. Wasn’t sure what to expect on this holiday evening, but the restaurant was full with a lively, happy crowd, and the always-friendly staff were in good spirits. Perfectly cooked salmon with a soft, moist interior and crispy skin outside. Nicely charred pizza with mushrooms and arugula. And a winning Sangiovese to wash it all down. What else do you need ?
