Casa Vega, in Sherman Oaks, opened its doors in 1956 and has been serving the people of Southern California ever since. Local residents, and even celebrities, have flocked to the family-run Mexican restaurant currently run by Christy Vega Fowler, daughter of original owner, Rafael Vega. While the decor is modern, the menu still reflects traditional Mexican menu staples. The extensive menu allows for every person to find something to enjoy. Homemade house guacamole, or one of the many soup or salad options, make for a great starter. The entree options are plentiful. Casa Vega serves everything from traditional chicken mole, a plethora of burrito options, combination plates and specialty options, such as carne chile Colorade and the signature Casa Vega molcajete. Vegan and vegetarian options are also available. Top off your meal at Casa Vega with a delicious house margarita or mojito.

The Terrace at the famous Sunset Tower Hotel debuted a new look in May of 2018, featuring a refreshed outdoor dining experience with updated furnishings and an elegant new bar. Magnificent service. Some of the best. The Yule log—sublime! The pigs in a blanket—imagine what that might be like with a master pastry chef! Shrimp cocktail—how often is it merely passable? Here it is of a uniformly exquisite tenderness. I want to say again, the SERVICE. This place is an industry standard but is generally underrated. Visit it again.

The food was outstanding and the service was excellent. There are so many "fancy" restaurants in Los Angeles where the food is disappointing, but this was not one of them. Having known about Republique for many years and seeing it on many "best" lists I was prepared to be disappointed, but it met my expectations. My parents and I were very pleased with our meal, the service, and the ambience which is beautiful. It qualifies as one of the best restaurants we've eaten at in Los Angeles, and is deserving of its designation as one of LA's top restaurants.

A magical Christmas experience! Service was outstanding and the food was delicious. Every single thing we ate tasted fresh and homemade, which is unheard of these days. And everyone was so kind to us. As first time parents with our four month old in tow, it meant the world!
