We’ve long loved Canary Wharf and it's rich history of the nearby Docklands and Billingsgate Market, yet Blacklock in a glass tower never quite fit. One look at an old disused warehouse nestled cosily in the corner of Canary Wharf underneath the train tracks of the North Dock and we knew we had found home. Feel the comforting rumble of trains passing overhead conjuring memories of some of our favourite haunts underneath the bridges in NYC - a place where, with the blinds rolled down and away from prying eyes, a decadent lunch can swiftly roll into dinner.

GŎNG, the highest hotel bar in Western Europe is perfect for sunset cocktails and late-night drinks. The bar offers 3 lofted areas for guests to relax and soak in the cityscape including unrivaled views of Tower Bridge.Uncomplicated and seamless, the bar’s first-class service ensures the ultimate escape from the city’s bustle. Hawksmoor Wood Wharf is housed in an eco-friendly floating pavilion in a new riverside neighbourhood in Canary Wharf. Gently rising and falling with the tide, the main restaurant at dock-level is joined by a 120-seat waterside bar. Both include terraces with views across the water (squint your eyes and you might just see the ghosts of great ships laden with mighty lengths of timber that used to swing in and unload there). There's also a private dining room for up to 20 people named after the local legend Queenie Watts, a singer, songwriter, actor and self-confessed bawdy landlady (think Peggy Mitchell meets Joni Mitchell). The menu revolves around the best British produce the country has to offer with grass-fed dry-aged ethically reared beef, sustainable seafood from the South coast and some of the biggest hits from the Hawksmoor New York menu.

We have visited this restaurant many times for family celebrations and other events. The food is always exceptional, matched by friendly , courteous, informative and helpful staff. Good wine list and lovely decor , I can never find fault with anything here . I would highly recommend Smiths, it’s not cheap but this restaurant is a great example of you get what you pay, all round great place for excellent fish and seafood.

We visited Gong bar on 27/11 at 16.00 - What a fabulous venue, with excellent service and a unique atmosphere. The whole experience was exceptional, and our Spanish waiter was brilliant with his recommendations and his service. We had a great time and would recommend anyone who is thinking of celebrating any occasion, special or not, going to this venue. One of the top venues in London with atmosphere, a great view and great service.
