Kokkari (pronounced “Ko-Kar-ee”) is a small fishing village located on the islands of Samos in the Aegean Sea, whose name is derived from the small onions that were once produced in the nearby fields. Its fertile soil and Mediterranean climate translated into an abundance of fresh produce as well as treasured seafood and game. Legend tells that Kokkari is the site where Orion, a mighty hunter and a young man of gigantic stature and great beauty, fell in love with the daughter of the king of Chios. Wonderful food and service. Would be nice to dine such lovely food in an atmosphere where one can have an enjoyable conversation with fellow diners rather than having to yell over the relentless piped music. The food speaks for itself. The music dimities ones enjoyment.

This is a fun kind of experience, mostly for an older crowd. We ordered the pupu sampler (appetizer), the beef main dish and one of the salads. The food was great and my mom (aged 77) loved it and the band. If you come after 7 pm they play music here. Overall one of the highlights of our trip!
